The Easter Egg

An “Easter egg” for the information language, is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature that the software developers hide inside the product itself. It draws a parallel with the custom of the Easter egg hunt observed in many Western nations.

Today the term “Easter egg” has a wider meaning and it is considered Easter egg whatever element hidden in a product and accessible only by some steps (click, push, etc.). Often we can hear also about other kind of Easter egg as far as music CD (hidden tracks) or DVD (special contents that have to be activated in special areas of the menu not pointed out) - source: Wikipedia
